From the desk of a CNA

Those who believe that job of a certified nursing assistant is one of the best promising careers today, for them, I being a well established CNA like to confirm…'yes, it is'. At present, I live in West Virginia in US. However, I am an Indian, born and brought up in Bangalore. I had entirely a different aim in my life but a sudden incident changed my mind that led me to enter into this dignified profession.

Well, let me come back to the point. CNA training is just on the pick now, in terms of job security, flexibility in working options, promotional scopes and money. You can earn money like anything and finally the great gift which is just priceless, the respect and honor.

Now, let me inform my friends who are planning to enter into this profession, few important facts. If you feel that working in the profession of CNA requires much patience as well a dedicated caring to your patients, I must appreciate you. On the other hand I would say that caring to the patients does not mean that you will have to be the watchman or sit near to them to care him or them continuously.

Rather, you will just get surprised at the end of the day when you prepare to leave from your duties. Cause of your surprise is, you simply can not understand or feel as to how the day had passed! You can hardly count your days and night when you are on duty, though watch is always important for you to complete the duties, assigned to you according to the schedule and on time.

Based on my experience, my opinion is, the CNAs should be highly strong minded. As a CNA you are supposed to face extreme stress during the working hours. However, that can not make any effect on your duties, activities as well as handling all odd situations. You need to be mentally prepared towards these situations. Initially, you may feel so depressed that you can get frantic and puzzled about your next action. However, all these are achievable by your attitude and mental strength.

During the period of night duty, sometime you will just feel helpless. Try to draw a picture in your mind, you might know usually, patients experience a reasonable increase of their different problems as well pain during the night time. You will have to rush to the patients to help them or to understand if any further deterioration has occurred in the patient.

Realize a situation while a number of patients are asking for assistance at the same time. How it is possible for you to tackle the situation! Do not get feared, let me say, all these are day to day experience that you have to overcome with your presence of mind and confidence and eventually you will be the one of the master CNAs of your workplace.

This is how you get respect from your place of working and from your loving patients. Yes, you need to be their best caregiver as well as friend. Hence, get confidence in you and understand time management which is most important in this profession. You have to do everything, as assigned to you within the scheduled time. Therefore, time management is a significant element of this profession. Those who want be a CNA but time is a bar can take online CNA classes. No more today, you all are most welcome to the huge CNA community of the world.
